About Air Index Today
What is Air Index Today?
Air Index Today is a free air quality monitoring service. It shows the current US AQI (EPA standard), hourly forecasts, pollutant breakdowns (PM2.5, PM10, NO₂, O₃, SO₂, CO), a 5-day AQI trend, and health recommendations aligned with AirNow guidelines.
Data sources
- CAMS (Copernicus) — Air quality data from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service via Open-Meteo
- US EPA / AirNow — US AQI scale, categories, and health guidance from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA AirNow)
- Yr/NRK — Weather symbols © Yr/NRK, CC BY 4.0
How it works
Air quality data comes from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), which uses atmospheric modeling and satellite observations for air quality forecasts worldwide. Weather data (temperature, conditions) comes from the Open-Meteo forecast API.
Free and ad-supported
Air Index Today is free to use. The service is supported by non-intrusive advertising. We do not sell personal data or require user accounts.
